Phi Kappa Tau Brothers at the University of Akron
Are Leaders in the Community and in Community Service!

While here at the University of Akron our fraternity brothers and alumni are encouraged to get involved in community service both on and off campus. Our chapter members have helped our community by contributing their time and efforts in such things as being Zippy the University of Akron Mascot, writers and photographers for the Buchtelite, Telbuch Akron Yearbook section editors, campus safety escorts, tour guides, and the list goes on and on.

Our alumni have been and are currently leaders in organizations such as the Akron Bar Association, The Akron Touchdown Club, The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, The JayCees, Kiwanis International, Lions Clubs, The Republican National Committee, and Rotary International just to name a few. Our members have served our community in both the private and public sectors by being University of Akron Trusties, Business Executives and Owners, Clerk of Courts, Congressmen, Judges, Mayors, and elected Politians both in the Democratic and Republican Parties.

In the photo above our Akron Brothers John Ballard, Roy Ray, and Tom Sawyer have all recieved our Ray C. Bliss Alumni Award. As brothers of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity here in Akron we salute their community service efforts.
